Mr G. H. Mackley, C.M.G.. M.P., managing-director of the Whakatane Paper Mills Ltd., who had. been u\ Whakatane left yesterday for Masterton, the constituency which he recently gained 'in the interests, of the National Party. With a few more Pacific votes to be counted the latest election figures in the Masterton contest arc: Mackley 4992, Power (Independent) 269, Robertson (Labour) 4472, Thompson (Democratic Labour) 567. Thcffc figures which are almost final., increase Mr Mackley'.s majority to 520.
