Pumpkin Price Control Ceiling retail and wholesale prices for pumpkins, also kiunera.s and silver beet at various seasons of the year are established by a newlygazetted price order. (J rowers, traders and consumers now know in advance what maximum prices will be ruling at any time of the year. Prices of kumeras and silver beet are controlled for the whole, twelve months, but for pumpkins the control is lifted during November to February inclusive. Tlvxse vegetables have been subject to price con trod for some considerable time. There is no control over pumpkin prices 'during midsummer months because at that'time of year' they are held to be a luxury, available in ve;\v small quantities, anil ample supplies of other vegetables are on the market. Maximum retail prices/ North' Island,range from 2%d per pound to s"V£d per jjound, according to season.
