STRANDED CARCASES
Writing the Whakatane Harbour Board the Borough Council drew attention to the number of dead beasts frequently washed ashore at the Council's leasehold property at the River Heads. The Council had no facilities for the disposal of the carcases otherwise than by burial, which method, was considered to be most unsatisfactory. As the Board possessed a boat, it was asked if it would be good enough to arrange in future for the disposal of the bodies of thb dead, beasts.
