In view of the increasing seriousness of the maize position 011 the Rangitaiki Plains Mr W. Sullivan, M.l\ for Bay of Plenty, has dispatched the following wire to the Minister of Agriculture: "Maize growers of Bay of Plenty and! Poverty Bay deeply concerned* at Departmental delay in seeking a price commensurate with present day conditions. With planting season now here, urgent favourable advice is necessary if Goyernment wishes to have increased acreage. Growers anxious and willing to co-operate."
