LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

SEPTEMBER MEETING The monthly meeting of the League was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Gartshore presided over a fair attendance of members and friends. The meeting was opened by the. citation of the Rules and Objects of the League, all present joining in the Lord's Prayer and. special prayers for peace.

The feature of the. afternoon was an article from the pen of Mrs. H. Wilson read by Mrs T. W. James. This articlc was discussed by those present, after which Mrs J nines read an article by Mr Ken Alexander entitled "The Seriousness of Humour." Tills was greatly enjoyed. Mrs Ken Scholield 'Contributed, two songs "God's Garden"' and "My Dear Soul," also two pianoforte solos, "Gondola Song" and. "Lost Hax>piness" by Mendelssohn. Her performance was warmly applauded. Afternoon tea was served by the committee, alter which the meeting closed with the National Anthem.
