FAREWELL TO MR AND MRS

A large number of friends met in Ivnox Church Sunday School Hall to farewell Mr and Mrs Hill avlio are leaving for Auckland. The hall had been beautifully decorated— the work of Mr and Mrs A. Sutherland, and though the gathering was shadowed by the thought of parting, a pleasant. evening was- spent.
Mrs Hill was the recipient of two lovely bouquets—one from the congregation, presented by Miss Jean Armstrong, and the other from the Maori Mission Office which had Ccitly valued Mr Hill's assistance.. Speeches ol appreciaton were made by the minister; Mr J. Bigelow on behalf of the Session; Mr A. Sutherland for the Court of Management; Mr I>. Paterson for the Choir; Mis.s R. Caraway for the Sunday School, and Mrs Hogg lor the P. W.M.U.
On behalf of the congregation Mr Bruce Watts presented. Mr and Mrs Hill with a fireside chair. Other gifts were also presented by Miss Hume for the Junior Choir, Mr Hogg from the P.W.M.U., and Warren Kirk from the Sunday School, to Duvid and Douglas. During the evening the Junior Choir, Mrs. K. Scliofield and Miss C. Scliofield entertained the audience with an anthem and songs.
At the game gathering opportunity was taken to remember with appreciation the worth and Avork of Miss L. Scliofield, and to express, In words and gifts, all good wishes to herself and Mr J. Moore, as they step out together in the adventure of life.
