PRICES AT WHAKATANE
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports n most, successful Cattle Fair held at Wha'katane on September (i. The yarding comprised 1100 head. including a very good entry of heel' cattle, which brought prices well lip to outside sales.
One pen of 12 good P.A. bullocks on account of Mr J. (1. Cli(l-Me-Culloch made £I<S 17s (id; a ])en ol light P.A. steers on account of Mr F. Kirk, nicely finished, £1 I ->s;
good Hereford and P.A. heifers, on account. Messrs Thompson and Ernest made from £1-5 17s (id to £1(>; lighter cows ami heifers, realised from £7 17s (id to £!' 10s. There was a good yarding of 2 and 'A year steers, !} year from £9 to. £10 16s; 2 year P.A. and Hereford steers ranging from £<i l.ls to £8 7s (id. A pen of very good "P. A. yearling steers on account Messrs Sisam and Sisam sold at £(i Is; smaller yearliing steers from £1 17s (id to K5 (is; Hereford and. P. A. yearling heifers. small, from £1 to £1 3s.
Willi the exception of a pen of very good yearling Hereford steers the whole yarding changed hands at very satisfactory prices.
