Jonasen's Campaign To some three hundred electors in the Caledonian Hall last evening, the Labour candidate for Bay of Plenty, Mr W. W. Jonasen, delivered a long address, endorsing to the full Labour's social legislation -and outlining new and still wider benefits which would eventuate by giving Labour a further term in office. He was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confi- i dence. A full report will appear in Tuesday's issue. Unusual Inquest "This is an unusual inquest in that the body of the person said, to have been drowned has not been recovered," said the coroner (Mr A. Grant) at an inquest at Hawent on November 22 at Wailii beach. "The Coroners Act make.s provision for the holding of inquests 'in such cases;, but. such provision is made use of only in cases where, the question of public interest is concerned, or for some private purpose which may Jbe properly entertained," continued the Coroner. "As the result of representations, I have been directed by the Attorney-General to> hold this inquest. From evidence given, I l'eel justified in assuming that Bernard Wallace was drowned and that his body is not likely to be recovered,. although all possible steps have been taken by the police.
