So also were the recommendations brought forward by the committee adopted. These call for action without further delay by material means to meet material problems —a check upon evil consequences of bad housing, provision of additional entertainment, attention to the dangers attendant upon unsuitable dance halls, and a tightening up of taxi control in the interests of the taxi industry as a whole and of the civil and service users of taxi cars.
