Conrad Veidt and the beautiful star Vivien Leigh come to the Regent Theatre on Tuesday antl Wednesday in "Dark Journey," a thrilling and romantic drama of counter espionage in Stockholm. Veid.t lias a strong dramatic role as Baron von. Marwitz, a German .spy., torn between love and duty. "THE AMATEUR GENTLEMAN" One ot the most colourful periods in history has been brought to the screen by Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., in his latest production, "The Amateur Gentleman/' -which is. showing at the Regent Theatre. Adapted from the v Jcfl'ery Farnol novel of. the same name, the story is laid in England, during the time of the Prince Regent. These were days of merry-making, at least, for the young bloods about town and the beautiful women who graced the. Carlton • House ballroom. Money flowed freely over the gambling tables, and honour was defended, at the point of the sword "FRIENBLY EN EMI ES" "Friendly Enemies" opens at the Regent Theatre on Thursday and Friday, stars Charles Winninger, Charlie Ruggles, James and Nancy Kelly. The film blends com-, edy and drama, laughter and tears and tells the story of the two firstgencratton German - Americans against the background of that war, with "Winninger in the role of Germanophilc and with Ruggles as the man who tries to cure him of hLs divided allegiance'.
