SPRING CATTLE FAIR

PRICES AT OPOTIKI Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report as follows in connection -with the Cattle Fair held at Opoti'ki on the 20th instant. A yarding ofa pproximately -100 head ol' station cattle,, including some lines of, good forward bullocks and well bred steers,, with a small offering of beef was submitted to a limited attendance of buyers. As a result of the present .scarcity of cattle feed in the Waikato and surrounding districts, buyers from these places, were not present, but in spite of the. limited competition, satisfactory prices were realised and a total clearance effected. The majority of the cattle had wintered well and came forward in good order. Following is a range of prices realised:— Fat Hereford .steers £13; fat P.A. hcifcr.s £8 17s; fat Jersey cows £7 2s fid; light fat cows £0 10s; for-, ward conditioned Hereford and P.A. bullocks £10 5s to £10 Is; 3 year P.A. steers £8 15s to £8 12s; 3 year Hereford steers in light condition ~ 15s; good rising 2 year Hereford steers £7 14,s to £7 Gs; small rising 2 y,ear Hereford steers £6 to £5 15s; good prising 2 year Hereford heifers £5' 25,• 3 rear speved P.A. and ir' , Hereford heifers £0 7s (id: medium yearling steers £5 Is: mixed coloured cows. r.w.
