A letter from the N.Z. Sheepowner.s' Federation conveyed a resolution that had been passed by that body regarding the regulations. - It was stated that the position was regarded with '"extreme alarm'' and that it was considered that, joint action .should be taken by the Farmers' Union and kindred organisations. A 'letter on the subject was a'.so received from the. OLorohanga branch of the Union. Mr J. W. Jones said that there was reason to a certain extent for the regulations in respect to the retail meat trade in the country districts. After a discussion regarding different aspects of the question the following resolution was, passed:-— "That this Provincial Executive considers that the meat grading regulations arc too widely drawn and are cither impracticable of operation in country district sor would result in drastic reductions in the prices received, by the producers.*' s :
