Kindly ring 136 D. CLARIBEL TIPPER. APOLOGY I unreservedly withdraw the allegation of cruelty in the handling of. "bobby calves" as 1 alleged in my letter published in the "Beacon" on Friday, the 6t.h of August 1943 and I desire to publicly express to Messrs Hall and Howat and their driver my regret over the publication of the letter. On fuller enquiry I ascertained that the calves placed in bobby calf pen by me on the morning of the 2nd of August were duly collected by the carrier that morning and that there was no foundation whatsoever for any allegation of cruelty in the handling of the said calves.
