LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
JULY MEETING The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday,, July 27. Mrs Sullivan presided over a fair attendance of members and friends. The Rules and Objects were read, all members joining in the Lord's Prayer for peace. After the correspondence, the election of officers for the ensuing year was held. This resulted as follows,:— President: Mrs Gartsho-re. Vice-presidents: Mesdames A. E. Bridger, W. B. Gow and W. Sullivan. Secretary: Mrs T. Craddock. Treasurer: Mrs C. A. Suckling. Committee: Mesdames W. E. Bridger, W. Howat, A. Shaw, R. Woolliams, J. Warner, McLeod, Hamill'. The president's report and statement of receipts and . expenditure •were adopted. Link correspondent: Mrs T. Craddock. Sunshine Circle: Mesdames W. E. Bridger and W. B. Gow. Miss M. Bigelow rendered the pianoforte solo 'Aragonaise.' by Massenent. The thought for the month was Remembrance of the past, best wishes for the present bright hopes for the future. Mrs A. E. Bridger read, an article from the League's magazine, entitled 'The Home of the Future.' , After this a discussion was held on the address given at the previous meeting entitled 'Women's part .in the post war world.' Afternoon tea Avas dispensed by the committee, after which the meeting -closed with the National Anthem.
