HANDLING OF BOBBY CALVES Sir,, —On 2nd inst I took "bobby" calves to the road pen at 8.30 a.m. At about 9 a.m. a ticket was left at the pen inscribed with the weights and the calves were put in a neigh- . hour's pen with his calves. Not having occasion to visit the pen until 9 a.m. to-day (4th) I dkl not know that the calves had not been collected and they had been without food or shelter. I have no means of feeding them until this afternoon and if they are pidked up before 3 p.m. they will ~ continue to suffer for at least another 48 hours. This is a shocking state of affairs in view of the constant appeals to treat the. "bobbies" humanely. Yours etc., A. N. MARSH, * Awakeri.
