STOCK MARKET

There was a large attendance of farmers at the clearing sale conducted by Wright, Stephenson and Cp. Ltd., on account of Mr Chas. Old, Taneatua, on Friday, July 23. The well known herd of. high grade Jersey cattle came forward in great order and met with spirited competition throughout. The following shows an indication of prices realised: Maiden sow with litter £16; sows to farrow £10 5s to £12 15s; pedigree Jersey bulls, 1 4-year 18gns; 1 3-year 31gns; 1 3-year 32gns; 16 yearling Jersey heifers £7 ss; 2-year springing Jersey lieii'crs £12 10s to £16; the line of 19 averaging £14 16s; springing Jersey cows 2nd and 3rd, ealvers £14 to £18 3s; quarter and older cows £8 to £13 15s. The herd averaging £13 2s 6d.
