WHAKATANE TE PUKE NIL On Friday last the To Pitfkc High School reps, played Wliakatane District High School at the Domain, and the result Mas a match which, dcsjnte the high local score Avas. a hard fought game from beginning to end. The game opened with a fast rush by Te Puke which Mas, however, countered by Tiepa (Whakatane wing) who succeeded in passing the ball to the backs. Boswell (second live-eighths) opened up with a nice kick downficld which ay as continued oy Goodall,, and a 25 resulted. Tiepa's kick went Avidc, but Boswcll succeeded a few minutes later in converting another try by R. Raureti bringing the score to 11 nil. Shortly after Hammond scored again but. this was not converted. Tiepa and Hammond scored later in quick succession, but by this time a fresh Avind had risen making acute angle kicks almost impossible. FolloAving a penalty against Whakatanc a few minutes later,, the red and blacks attempted to force their way through, but failed against the heavier Wliaikatane forwards. After half-time the Te Puke pack woke, up a little but the local boys still had them running round in circles.
