WHAKATANE GOLF CLUB OPEN DAY On account of the civic reception to our Whakatane County and Borough Soldiers returned from the Middle East, the draw intended for next Saturday will be suspended. This function will be a very important one and all golfers should attend to give our returned men a very hearty welcome. The competitions will be continued the following Saturday. Returned Men As is usual with all courses in New Zealand the Whakatane Golf Club links at Paroa are open to play for all golfers returned from overseas or serving in the three arms of the fighting forces in the Dominion at all times. Those men who wish to play golf and have no clubs Should phone the secretary, Mr Stubbs, 110K, who will contact club members who are willing at all times to lend cluibs to those requiring them. LADIES' GOLF On Saturday, July, 17, the first of two Eeclectic rounds will be played. The official starting tees will be No. 10 and until 1.30 p.m. No. 6. The draw will be as follows: — Mrs Steel and Miss Gow; Mrs Mussett and Miss Donaldson; Mrs Sloane and Miss Otley; Mrs Dawson and Miss Suckling; Mrs Berg and; Miss King; Mrs Combes, and Miss Winstone; Mrs Otley and Miss Hunter; Mrs Suckling and Miss Graeff; Mrs Winstone. and Miss Lux ton;. Mrs Boon and Mrs Stone; Mrs Ker and Miss Carter; Mrs Barry and Miss Lenz; Mrs Bushett and Miss Graham; Miss Tait and. Miss Conlan; Mrs Smith and Mrs Dallas.; Mrs Donaldson and Miss Righton.
