SEAL AT OHOPE STRANDED ON SANDS Residents living in the vicinity of the Ohope camping grounds were, surprised yesterday morning to discover a six foot seal basking on the beach and apparently objecting most strenuously to the attention which was being given him. The seal was first discovered by Mr R. Miller proprietor oj the wel 1 nown store, who says be first mistook the animal for a log until it raised its head and bellowed a 4 him like a cow. It was obvious'y a young sea 1 that. had. become stranded and efforts were immediately made to return it to the tide. In spite of its vigorous objections to being levered along the youngster was gradually brought to the waters edge where it helped itself without further delay and was soon flipping its way through the breakers towards the open sea.
