KILLINGS TO MID-JUNE The official figures of killings for the present season at the Dominion's Freezing Works from Ist October to 19th June, as issued by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, show that lamb killings now total 10,896,044. carcases, compared with 10,978,436 carcases to 20th June last .season, this being a decrease of 82,392 carcases.. Wether mutton killings are 603,935 carcases, and ewe mutton killings 1,70£566' carcases, compared with 762,779 and 1,954,320 carcases respectively last season. Details of the lamb and mutton killings in the North and South Islands, with iigures for the previous season in parentheses, are as follows:— North Island Lamb 5,788,930 (5,725,677) 'Wether mutton 543,372 ( 675,549) Kwe. mutton 1.169,705 (1,150,978) South Island Lamb 5,107,114 (5,252,759) Wether mutton 60„563 ( 87,230) Ewe mutton 535,861 ( 803,348) Frozen beef production has reached 537,557 quarters compared with 562,171 quarters last season.
