He let them have it, and dug a third, lb takes two to make a quarrel, and he was determined not to be a i)arty to a quarrel, but it must have been hard to hold himself in. "And the Lord appeared unto him the same right, and said, 1 am the, God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for 11 am with thee, and will bless thee, and will multiply thy seed, for my servant Abraham's sake/' It Avas as though God said, "Sleep well;! it Avas a fine day's work you did!" It was; and so was this next "a fine day's work." In the grciit days of Greece, there was a national leader named Pericles. One daj', as he attended to some urgent business in the market place, a low, worthless fellow reviled him Avithout ceasing, anil in the foulest terms; but Pericles went on quietly with his work, as though he had not heard the man. He didn't call upon the police to arrest the man. nor did lie. turn round and thrash him. He just let the man haA'c his ■ way. Towards evening, Pericles Avalkcd home, the man following him and heaping abuse upon him. When about to enter his own door, as. it was now dark, he ordered one
of his servants to take a torch and light the man back to his home. Could you do that? Or are you quick to take up a quarrel?
