Only One Casualty ! A recent report that 18 of the South African team to visit Australia and New Zealand in 19:57 had bee£ killed in action and six permanently maimed was incorrect. Replying to a message of sympathy from the New South Wales Rugby Union, the South African Board cabled: "Sincerely appreciate cable, but are glad to state that report of casualties among 19J57 Springboks was erroneous. Although a big proportion of. the team is on active service, a Natal wing thrcoquarter, P. J. Lystcr (slightly wounded) is the only casualty."
