ENGLISH OBITUARY
PRIME MINISTER'S BROTHER Mr WM. J. FRASER Wo reprint the following obituary notice from a recent English exchange::— The death occurred on Friday of Mr William J. Eraser, of 62 Westbrook Road, Welling. Mr Fraser, who had. boon ailing for acme time, passed »way at Tooting Bee Hospital. H-> was 63. A native of Foam, a village in the North of Scotland, Mr Fraser was 3 brother of Mr Peter Fraser, Prime Minister of New Zealand. He learned his trade a.s a compositor in the office of the North Star, Dingwall, but when ouite a young man came to England and for over 40 years he was in the employment of the Amalgamated Press.' He had been a Corrector for the Press since 1914. He was father of, the readers' chapel at the Amalgamated Press for 25 years and minute secretary of the Amalgamated Press House Chapel for 20 years. He Avas also an active member of the "Welling Auxiliary of the Printers' Pension. Fund. There was strong afFcction between Mr Fraser and lws brother, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, and 011 the two occasions in recent yenr.s Avhen Mr Peter Fraser visited thi,s country they Avere much together. The' Prime Minister of NeAV Zealand had been to Welling at different times, the last being on a Sunday in July, 1911. In the latter part of that month Mr W. J. Fraser accompanied his brother on an official tour through England and Scotland which terminated in a brief stay at Fearn, their native village. Mr Fraser leaves a A-vidow and, a married daughter.
