ST. JOHN ORGANISATION

At a recent meeting of the Whakatane; St. John Nursing Division a talk was given by Mrs H. M. Dewar on, the Treatment of Burns. The speaker tolcl of her experiences in a large hospital situated near a steel works near Melbourne, whfire severe cases of burning occurred daily. She spoke of. the. different degrees of burns and of the most moderii methods of treatment. Mention was made of the wonderful advances that have been made recently with regard to this treatment, particularly in the technique of skin grafting, and of the great work (lone by specialists ,in this, direction.

Questions were asked by members and a general discussion followed. At the close of, the meeting a vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Dewar for her most interesting and instructive talk.
