The question of the supply oi' tyres to country members of the Home Guard was referred to in a letter from the Minister of Supply, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, which was read at the monthly meeting of the Auckland Provincial Executive' .of the New Zealand Farmers. Union on June I<J. The letter stated that a li.st. of those eligible lor tyres had been completed, but it was not possible' to provide for private ears. M. llushworlh) said if particulars, of individual cases Ave re .supplied, to the authorities some satisfaction might be obtained. Statements of a general character Ave re not likely to be of an\- av;iil.
