SEAWEED STOCKINGS

Of the making of new fibres for textiles there is no end. The latest is seaweed fibre and Britain lias plenty of raw material. Professor J. 13. Spcakman in a demonstration at Leeds University soaked a piece of "seaweed .satin'' in gasoline and showed that when set alight, only 'he edges were charred. This fabric also takes dye well and can be readily woven with cotton and wove to make a variety of materials including an excellent yarn for hosiery.
