A(|vice. lias been received by Mr J. D. Dicker, engineer-manager of the ;..Bay of Plenty Elcctric Power Boacd> from the, JSJc'etricUy Controller,?|that tlic, boarcl's; • area has been placed iirst oil the list for disconnection in the event of the power demand exceeding the supply this week. This means that consumers in the board's area have not economised in the use of electricity to the extent hoped for. The demand on supply this week is also heavier than usual owing to flooding from the heavy rains and extended use of llood pumps. During the winter months when hot water is not so much needed in milking ,sheds, J'ariiiwrs* are urged to cut water heaters in the sheds as much as possible, as. this is about the only means that power can be conserved without causing inconvenience and by taking this action it should be possible to prevent a complete shut--oil' of power as a penalty for overconsumption.
