BOROUGH COUNCIL'S GESTURE

£250 INVESTED At its meeting last Monday evening the Whakatane Borough Council decided to allocate the sum of £250 (set aside annually for office equipment) towards the Third Liberty Loan. The Mayor in discussing cor* reslpondence under this head referred also to a sum of £274 10s 9d. which had 1 accumulated in the form of excess depreciation over maintenance costs. He would suggest that in handing this sum over to the Depreciation Fund Commissioners that the council recommend that this also be put to stock under" the l'oan. This coursie was agpreed to.
