WHAKATANE CLUB

ANNUAL"GENERAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Croquet Club was helfl in the pavilion on Saturday afternoon, June o, at 2.30 p.m. when there was a good attendance, of members. Mrs Shavv, president, reported the past season as being a very quiet one owing to so much illness in members homes. The greens had closed on Saturday, May 8, but not many members were present, progressive croquet was played and trophies were won by Mesdamcs Ileliyar and Shaw. Mrs Shaw thanked her committee for support given her during the season. Klection of officers for the ensuing season were as follows: President, Mrs Crecke; vice-president, Mrs Loano; secretary Mrs Burgess; committee," Mesdamcs Shaw, Comer, Woolliams, Healv, Baxter, Sutherland and Ileliyar; handieappers, Mesdamcs Ileliyar, Hcaly and. Loane; green committee, Mesdamcs Ilealy, Loane and Comer; tea lady, Mrs Guest; draw committee, Mesdames Creeke and Woolliams. Mrs Sutherland presented Mrs Shaw, retiring president, with a pretty bouquet of Iceland Poppies. Mrs Baxter proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring president and committee.
