COUNTY INSPECTOR'S CASES STRAYING STOCK At. the. instigation of the County 1 ralfic Inspector (Mr A. Carling) two cases were heard against Maoris at the Whakatanc Court sitting before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., last last Tuesday. Joseph Takarua who d,id not appear was charged with being the owner of a motor truck without the necessary warrant of fitness;. Fined 10s and costs 35s 6d. T. Kopae was charged with, that on February 22nd he allowed one mare and foal to stray at large on Rewiti Road. Fined £1 and costs 33s Od.
COUNTY COMPLAINTS DISCUSSION AT MEETING™"" Cr Hunter at last Tuesday's meeting of the Wliakatanc County Council stated that settlers on Soldiers,' Road were complaining of a number of horses and a snuiLl herd* cows which were allowed, to wander at large on the road and asked if the council would take .steps to stop the practice. The matter was referred to Lhe Count} 7 Inspector.
