ADULT EDUCATION
OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN LECTURE TOUR BY ORGANISER Mrs Dorothy E. Johnson, Tut-or-Organiser of the movement for Adult Education which is now officially part of the Auckland University College will visit this district early next month at the invitation of the combined women's organisations (Women's Institutes and W.D.F.U.) Those who recall Mrs Johnston's previous visit last year will welcome her return andl look forward to her new tour with the keenest anticipation, Mrs Johnson Avil! tour the Rangitaiki Plains speaking at Te Tcko, Awakeri. Otakiri and Edgecumbc and also at Wliakatane, dates to be announced later. The visit will extend over a month and will cover day and evening lectures. It is hoped in each centre to inKtitute a course in the Physiology nnd Hygiene of Women, and one otlier course to be one of the 10llowing:— (1) Child Study; (2) Family Life; (3) Nutrition; (4) Women's Partnership in the. New World. For the evening sessions the lectures suggested are:— (1) The Business of Living—the Nd.xt Stage. (2) Glimpses of Country Life in Africa. (:5) Producing Milk for the Cities of New York. (4) Parent Education in America. (">) Of Men and Women—a' study in Human Relationships. ((>) The Village Colleges of England. (7) How New York State trains its girls. (8) Some famous English Paintings in America. (9) A Round of Visits to American Homes. (10) Some suggestions for electoral reform as an introduction to a discussion. Hi) A Co-operative Community. (12) A short history of America.
