A young lad Malcolm Brown, aged about eleven years had the thrill of his life last Wednesday Avhen, probing about in a drain on his father's property he disturbed an eel Avliich looked for all the. Avorkl like a python.
The boy wrestled Avith the fish for half an hour holding it in position until help arriA'ed. When it Avas finally taken from the Avater
the eel was 4ft 8 inches long 1inches round the girth and weighec 181hs.
In the same drain a week or two earlier a 14 .pound eel was caught which had an overall length of,4l't
2 inches.
