THE SHOOTING SEASON
THOUGH suffering to some extent from the scarcity of ammunition sportsmen declare the new shooting season which opened last Saturday to be a particularly favourable one as far as game is concerned. Limit bags were scarce, but on the whole shooters were fully satisfied with their! results. From Waimana, Ruatoki, Tarawera and all adjoining valleys come uniform reports which show birds (duck and pheasants) to be plentiful and in excellent condition.
