KEEN ROWING CONTESTS
EASTER MONDAY FOURS
The competition fours for the Canning trophies, on the part of the young members of the newly constituted Rowing Club took place on the river over a three-quarter mile course on Easter Monday. In spite of the boisterous weather conditions the. contests were even and keen indicating a remarkable standard of oarsmanship for erews which had been only a limited time in training. The interest shown by the general public was also another gratifying feature. The winners, J. Moore's team received the warm-' est approbation. At the conclusion, tlie. Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, presented the trophies and congratulated the winners. Details Avcre: Ist Heat, J. Moore (stroke), Rivett, J. Butler and W. Wallace beat Jaram (stroke), Maxwell, Hewitt and Meyer. 2nd Heat: A. Moore (stroke), E. Hunt, J. Dines and E. Tilby beat L. Stewart (stroke), Gattsehe, King and P. Moore. Final: J. Moore, Rivett, Butler and Wallace (P. Maxwell cox) beat A. Moore, E. Hunt, J. Dines, and Tilby (R. Morpeth cox).
