The .Borough Council at its Inst meeting and in response to a letter from the Chamber of Commerce with regard to the suggestion from Gisborne favouring an aerial survey of a new route for the East Coast railway, decided definitely that it considered the formation of an up-: to-datc Main Highwaj 7 of far greatj-. cr importance, and therefore gave, no support to the proposal.
