THE RED CROSS SHOP
WITH the completion of the second four weekly period,; the staffing of. the well known Red Cross shop on the Strand by street groups of Borough ladies, has further endorsed the remarkable spirit and enterprise which has attended the new scheme. The period in mind showed a total of £202 3s Id. This remarkable figure has meant a/ steady shopping average of something over £B : —a really remarkable achievement. The total for the year, which has now covered the whole of the Borough scheme is £311 17s lid which in view of the fact that it actually represents only eight weeks activity is something to be genuinely proud of. If the same system of staffing can be maintained throughout'the present year, the grand total .of the shoo trade should attain a remarkable figure.
