CARRIAGE OF STOCK
Because of a recent prosecution it is stated that some farmers have the impression that none of them as allowed to carry stock in his own (motor vehicle- The fact is that farmers owning trucks weighing with their loads over two tons are not allowed to cart their own stock without the authority of the local ,goods transport control committee. In the case of "L" plate trucks and car trailers the Minister of port on November 1 Oi, 1942, gave a direction to all committees that •owners of car trailers and light trucks carrying "L" plates may cart to or from any saleyard their -own stock,, hut only within their ■own petrol licenses. Owners of trucks weighing ' witli their loads •over two tons are now required to obtain a license from the transport licensing authority before they can carry their own goods from one Place to another. The licensing authority may provide conditions -according to his discretion.
