Details, of the. lamb and mutton killings in the North and South Islands, with figures for the previous season in parentheses, are as follows:—• North Island Lamb. 4,079,197 (4,126,861) Wether mutton 222,472 ( 381,717) Ewe mutton 773,502; ( 578,188) South Island' Lamb 2,104,223 (2.76!),271) Wether mutton 6,584 ( 25,154) Ewe mutton 104,003 ( 21:0,990) ■■Frozen heel' production has readied quarters compared with 128,671 quarters last season. Porker killings total 31.800 carcases, a decrease of 47,139, -whilst baconers total 74,765 carcases, a decrease of 102,546.
