LOCAL CATTLE FAIR
SATISFACTORY PRICES The Not Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports a very successful sale, at tlvcir Cattle Fair held at Whakatane saleyards on March 11. The yarding totalled 1430 head, of which 1350' were sold under the hammer. Prices generally Ave re very satisfactory, the bulk of the yarding going to outside districts. Prime fat cows and heifers sold on a very keen market, making from £7 to £9 9s, the latter being a very choice line of P.A. heifers on account of, Messrs Sisam and Sons. Lighter fat cows brought from £5 to £6 10s; 3Hyr Hereford and P.A. steers on account of Messrs Roberts and Roberts from £9 to £9 sk; 2*&yr P.A., steers from £8 15s to £9, the letter being a very nice line on account Mr 11. Ernest; 2M»yr Hereford steer's made up to £9, a line o,f 18 months P.A. steers on account of Mr A. W. Thompson went to £7 15s, with others from £5 17s 6d;, Hereford store cotfs to £5 16s and 18 months: H. and P. A. heifers from £3 15s to £5 15s.
