Women's Institute Another successful Institute year was finalised at the annual meeting of the Manawahe Women's Institute. Both the president and secretary's# reports revealed that the Institute a motto for Home and Country had been enthusiastically interpreted while the financial report showed a satisfactory balance. The sident, Mrs Logan, welcomed Mrs ' Withy Y.O. and presided over a good attendance. A display of soldiers' knitting was held, while a Patriotic and Institute sales table were well patronised. A number of letters acknowledging the receipt of Patriotic parcels have been received by the Manawaho Committee and all express the plea- > sure our men experience from this source and amply repay any effortentailed in their compilation. Several slight frosts have consid-r erably slowed up the growth of local pasture and vegetable gardens.
