GAME BIRD IMPORTATION
One of the hazards in the importation of game birds is the fact that after a few years' residence in their adopted country they might show cyclic fluctuations in their populations, says a contributor to Forest and Bird. The iting-nocUed pheasant and the Hungarian Partridge wore not cyclic in their population behaviour in their native habitats and exhibited no sign of cyclic behaviour during their first few decades in America. But now they exhibit the same cyclic population fluctua- ( tions" as the native grouse. 1
