What ho.. what ho, ma hearties. How would you,like this Aveather for n Avindy sail on the sea. It certainly feels good to me and T would giA*e a lot to feel a strong keel beneath me and a bending mast straining in a sub-'gale. Over here on the island,- aa'c ha\ r e seen nothing but AA r hite horses on the sea for the pas't Aveek and. the northerly Avind has freshened up the scene so that there's a regular nip iin the air again. On the northern point I had a little flifTiculty last. Tuesday evening AA-itli a fire "which some visitors had started. It AA T as: probably only lit to boil a billy but by evening when they had gone it had. spread to the dry scrub and sent up quite a good blaze. I feared that it might threaten the pohutukawas on the higher slopes so. I set to work to cut a fire, break. Lucky I! did too for the flames became very big when the ,wind : sprang up at night and I am sure some very serious damage would have been done but for my Avork. However all's Ave.ll that ends Avell, so here's hoping that, there will not be an more careless Aisitors to my island home in future.
