APPRECIATION
—♦ SOLDIER'S LETTER
PARCEL FROM TE! THKO One of the lady members of the Tc Teko Patriotic Committee,, Mrs L. Anderson lias received the following letter from Lieut C. A. Maekersey, Middle East, acknowledging the receipt of a patriotic parcel forwarded by her. 'T, feel sure you will be interested to hear of the safe arrival of a pat.-' idiotic parcel in which you had. a hand. A parcel Ii received recently had a note from you inside a tjiD containing a cake which arrived in very good condition. You people deserve to be. told of the great pleasure your generous gifts and unstinted labour bring to soldiers who have been so long far away from home. It is, I always feel, a great pity that you cannot be present, to watch the reception given to your parcels —you would require no other reward . This is my third winter out in the desert—if it is the last I will be more than satisfied. War news is good these daj r s, but we still have some distance, to go yet. II hope to take up a piece of land in the Bay of Plenty when I have linished. over here so perhaps one day wc shall meet—and maybe you will eat some of our cake.—if s:o I hope it is as great a success as was yours.,"
