THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY Aboard for the Goodwill Cruise
Fine weather at last, and I have just come, up from one of the best swims I have had this year. The water was wonderful and little Peterkin enjoyed it too. You've no idea how swift those penguins are in the water. You'd never catch them! As for Butinsky he just sits on the bank and chews the long dry grass, as much as to say "Ha, who wants to swim But of course as you can guess, he's only jealous and one day I'm going to tip him in too, just when he's least expecting it. My garden is looking much better now, and that cheers me up a good deal. The tomatoes are huge and I have a wonderful lot of water melons ripening. When they're * ready you must all come over and have a feed. My biggest job is to keep that pest Butinsky off the patch. He likes them too, but not so much the melons as the vines upon which tliey grow. Now B must close and get on to our story. Cheerio till next. week. Your old friend Peter the Whaler.
