LOCAL ASSOCIATION MEETS The .quarterly meeting of thp Whakatane branch of the Trained "Nurses Association was held at the residence of Mrs F. Prideaux on Friday 26tli. Mrs F. Sumner presided. An interesting and instructive re-» port, was given by Mrs Dewar, who was delegate to the Dominion Conference of Nurses held recently in "Wellington* Business was discussed, and it was decided to hold a garden party at the residence of Mrs F. Prideaux, Douglas Street, in the near future.. Proceeds from the garden party -are to be devoted to comforts for nurses serving in the Pacific War Zone,, and it is hoped for a good at>tendance of* members and their friends. Those present were: Mrs F. Sumner (president), Mrs Dewar (secretary), Miss O'Connor, of Wellington, Relieving Matron at Whakatane. Hospital, Mrs F. Prideaux,, Mrs Dawson, Mrs Seabeck, Mrs Hawkin, Mrs Le Lievre, Mrs Hutton, Mrs Morice, Miss Harding, Miss Smith, Miss Johnr stone, Miss Rutherford, Miss Hicks, Miss Darbyshire, Miss Patterson and Linton.
