WAINUI FAREWELL

SEAMAN H. WHITE THE GUEST

A well attended farewell evening was held at Wainui in honour of Seaman Harry White who is. the only son of Mr and Mrs C.i H. White, of Wainui. After a delightful supper had been served the. guest of the evening was presented with a leather writing case and. a Waterman propelling pencil. Mrs White was presented with a posy and Mir White with a buttonhole.

Seaman White responded in a most suitable manner expressing pleasure at the gathering and appreciation of the gifts.

Novelty dances were won by Harry White and Miss Tipping, and Miss Burke and partner. Dancing continued until a late hour and was concluded by the singing of Auld Lang Sync and the National Anth&m.
