LUCKY SMALL BOY
NEW MODE OF TRANSPORT MOTOR SCOOTER FROM U.S.A. Probably the most envied small boy in Dunedin at Christmas was the proud possessor of a motorscooter, a miniature combined motor cycle and scooter, of a type which has become, popular in America, but so far is not common in New Zealand. When the youthful owner of the ' motorised scooter demonstrated the paces of his machine he was the centre of admiring groups; of youngsters. Driven by a petrol engine, it is controlled by the rider standing with both fc-et on the base and both hands gripping the handle. A minor problem has arisen regarding the designation of the machine, as it will not require to be registered if it is called a "scooter," but certainly will be if it is deemed to be a "motor cycle."
