ESSAY ON HOLIDAYS "Well, I'm really disgusted, with the response, to this week's competition. Only one entry, and that you will read below. Its very good too and for a little lad I think it has definite promise. Congra)ts to you Rex! To you other landlubber's, I certainly hope 3'ou will give a better response next week. Here is Rex's effort which earns him a free picture ticket with my best compliments:— Dear Peter the. Whaler, Back to school we go after six weeks most enjoyable holiday. On Xmas morning all of our family packed up and headed for Ohope to spend a fortnight at. a rented house from which we. had a lovely view of 'the sea. The Aveatlier was perfect. a the water was very warm so my brother and I spent most of our time swimming.. We also spent a good deal 'of our time at the. swimming baths, and oh New Year's day I won two races for which I received five shillings. The last fortnight of the holidays I spent on a farm at Waimana where I had the 'time of my life riding horses and helping to milk cows. Ever 3- morning I went to the factory in the truck and it was very interesting. I can ride a horse as good as Hopalong. Cassidy now. REX MAJOR.
