N.Z. WAR UNIT IN SYDNEY Congratulations, from the National Patriotic Fund Board have been sent to the New Zealand Auxiliary War Unit of New South Walesi on its excellent record of achievement on behalf of New Zealand servicemen passing through Sydney. The members of. the organisation are New Zealanders who have 1 banded together in Sydney to do Avar work. The patrons are Lady Julius and Mr W. Taylor, New Zealand Government Commissioner, Mr A. R. Cameron, Manager of the New Zealand Press Association's office in Sydney, is Chairman, and Mrs Linda Fergu-

son is the. Hon. (Organising Secretary.

Through Mr Taylor, who represents the Board, grants are made by the Patriotic Fund Board to t*he unit, whose first responsibility has been the care of N.Z.E.F. men who have passed through Sydney on their way overseas, or returning home, the latter class including invalided men.

Hospitality extended lias embrac-j ed various functions, tours, swimming parties, dances, etc., and in addition members of the unit have entertained the New Zealanders in their homes. The unit was also able to help men of the Royal New Zealand Navy who lost their possessions when the Japanese submarine raided Sydney harbour. Sewing and knitting bees arc conducted regular-
