Emergency Regulations 1942 (No. 2)" notice is hereby given that the fee for the registration of dogs for the year 1943 is payable on and after lsl February 1943 to Mr A., Carlifngj, Registrar of Dogs, at the County Council Chambers, Whakatane. The amount of the fee has been fixfed; as follows:— For each dog kept solely for the purpose of destroying rabbits 1/-. For each dog kept solely for the purpose of herding or driving sheep or cattle 2/-. For any other dog 5/-. Notice is further given that the Whakatane County Council has been unable to obtain dog collars for the purpose of complying with the. provisions of Sections 5 and 7 of the Act, and hereby gives public notice of its intention at the expiration of seven days from date of this notice, to adopt the registration procedure as set out in Section 5 (b) of the. regulations abovementioned. HYDATID DISEASE! In accordance with the provisions of the Dogs Registration (Prevention of Hydatid Disease) Regulations, 1938, all owners must, when registering dogs, purchase a supply -of the approved remedy for Hydatid Disease., the charge for which is 1/- for each d,og registered. The Registrar has been instructed to destroy all unregistered dogs, and dog owners are advised that the maximum penalty for harbouring an unregistered dog is £5. 1/2/43. C. G.
